Paulina Porizkova (born Pavlína Pořízková IPA: [ˈpavli:na ˈpor̝i:skova:], April 9, 1965) is a Czech-born Swedish-American model and actress.

Born in Prostějov, Czechoslovakia, she was still a toddler when her father and mother left Czechoslovakia, fleeing the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, and moved to Lund in southern Sweden. They left Paulina under the care of her grandmother, believing that their daughter could be brought out later.

However, the Czechoslovak authorities would not allow this, and the ensuing battle for Paulina was widely publicized in the Swedish press, making her a cause célèbre. After a failed rescue attempt, in which her mother was detained by the national police, international political pressure led by Olof Palme caused the communist government to allow the Pořizková family to be reunited after seven years. The reunion was soon ended when the husband left, and the couple filed for divorce. Father and daughter have been estranged since.

This left Paulina's mother to fund her own medical education and Paulina and her brother Jachym (who was born in Czechoslovakia during her mother's house arrest) to look after themselves, including having to steal bread to have something to eat. Paulina hated her time in Sweden, as she was harassed by her peers for her poverty-stricken political refugee status.

Natasha T. Henstridge (born August 15, 1974) is a Canadian fashion model turned actress. Her most notable roles include Species and Species II.

In her movie debut Species, Henstridge played "Sil," a genetically engineered alien/human hybrid created from a message received by SETI, who breaks free from the captivity of a laboratory when her overseers attempt to "euthanize" her. Pursued by a team of experts who band together to stop her before her "Species" multiplies, Sil embarks on a killing spree while also discovering her powerful instinct to mate. With a strong cast, an interesting story angle and polished sensuality Species was an instant hit, raking in $113 Million (USD).^[3] Notable for its sexual content, the film won Henstridge the MTV Movie award for "best kiss" for a scene in which her character, while kissing an aggressive would-be suitor, impales his head with her tongue.

The movie gave Henstridge a platform to launch her acting career, but most of the following movies she appeared in were not as successful. Species spawned a sequel Species II, in which a male alien was attempting to mate with Eve, a genetic duplicate of Sil.

Eve was played as gentle and more docile than the original Sil, creating an air of sympathy for the character who spends the majority of the movie imprisoned in a glass habitat and undergoing painful experiments. The film was a failure at the box office, taking in $19 million (USD) domestically. A few smaller independent movies followed, including Bela Donna and Dog Park, with varied box office returns. She also starred opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in the action/adventure movie Maximum Risk. Despite having some reservations about the sci-fi genre, she signed up for John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars in the lead role and reprised her role as Eve in a brief cameo in Species III. Ghosts of Mars was not well-received, with a 21% rating in Rotten Tomatoes.^[4]

Monica Bellucci (born September 30, 1964 or 1968^[A]) is an Italian actress, and fashion model.

Bellucci was born in Città di Castello, Umbria, Italy,^[3] the daughter of Maria Gustinelli, a painter, and Luigi Bellucci, who owned a trucking company.^[4] Bellucci started modelling at 16, when she was attending the Liceo classico. Initially pursuing a career as a lawyer, Bellucci modeled to pay her tuition at the University of Perugia,^[2] but the lifestyle tempted her away from her law studies. She speaks Italian, French, and English fluently, Spanish semi-fluently, and she has had speaking roles in each of these languages as well as in Aramaic for her part as Mary Magdalene in The Passion of the Christ.

Bellucci is married to fellow actor Vincent Cassel, with whom she has appeared in several films, and has a daughter named Deva (born September 12, 2004). In 2004, while pregnant with her daughter, Bellucci posed nude for the Italian Vanity Fair Magazine in protest against Italian laws that prevent the use of donor sperm.^[5]

Bellucci's film career began in the early 1990s. In 1992 she made her first appearance in a major English-language film as one of Dracula's brides in Bram Stoker's Dracula. She became known and popular with worldwide audiences following her roles in Malèna, Brotherhood of the Wolf and Irréversible, though is perhaps best known for her role as Persephone in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions followed by her portrayal of Mary Magdelene in The Passion of the Christ.

In a documentary about the film, The Big Question, she stated: "I am an agnostic, even though I respect and am interested in all religions. If there's something I believe in, it's a mysterious energy; the one that fills the oceans during tides, the one that unites nature and beings."^[9]

In 2003, Bellucci starred in Tears of the Sun as a doctor in Nigeria being rescued by the U.S., and in 2005 in the fantasy film The Brothers Grimm as a beautiful evil queen. Her latest films are The Stone Council, directed by the Frenchman Guillaume Nicloux (2006) and Manuale d'amore 2 (2007) where she portrays a physiotherapist who is the object of the desire of her patient. She was supposed to be seen portraying Indian politician Sonia Gandhi in the biopic Sonia, originally planned for release in 2007 but now shelved. September 2007 saw the release of Shoot 'Em Up, where she plays a prostitute opposite Clive Owen. She dubbed her own voice for the French and Italian releases of the film.^[10]

She filmed Le Deuxième souffle with Daniel Auteuil, Michel Blanc and Eric Cantona (2006).

Bellucci also voiced Kaileena in the video game Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, and the French voice of Cappy for the French version of the 2005 animated movie Robots.

In 2007, she appeared in Heartango, a movie for Intimissimi, with José Fidalgo and directed by Gabriele Muccino.
